The DC Office of Planning is soliciting grant applications from qualified organizations to: 1) help drive commercial corridor vibrancy in Ward 7 through public space activation and beautification, and 2) expand food access and entrepreneurship in Ward 7.
These grants are intended to implement key recommendations from several Ward 7 planning initiatives including the Nannie Helen Burroughs Corridor and Pennsylvania Avenue East Small Area Plans, as well as the Deanwood Comprehensive Community Development Model. Recommendations from these plans highlight the need to prioritize fresh food retail and distribution and support local entrepreneurs in Ward 7, and enliven public space for the benefit of residents and businesses.
Applications for the Ward 7 Shared Commercial Kitchen Grant are due by January 7, 2026. An informational webinar will be held December 11 at 3:30 PM.
Applications for the Ward 7 Public Space Activation Grant are due by January 13, 2026. An informational webinar will be held December December 17 at 2:00 PM.
