Valecia Wilson is the Associate Director for Urban Design. She is an urban planner and designer who is passionate about equity and supporting communities. For over 15 years, she has worked on place initiatives in DC, Maryland, and Virginia that emphasize engagement, urban design, neighborhood preservation, and environmental resiliency. Previously, Valecia was a Senior Neighborhood Planner at the DC Office of Planning, where she has led several community initiatives and contributed to citywide efforts such as the Resilient DC Strategy and the 2021 Comp Plan Update. She holds a Master of Architecture degree from Hampton University and a Master of Community Planning degree from Auburn University.
