Friday, December 17, 2010
On Tuesday, December 14, 2010, the DC Office of Planning announced the release of the final Neighborhood Sustainability Indicators Project (NSIP) Pilot Reports.

(Washington, DC) On Tuesday, December 14, 2010, the DC Office of Planning announced the release of the final Neighborhood Sustainability Indicators Project (NSIP) Pilot Reports. The final NSIP Pilot Reports are the result of more than one year of participatory planning and a public engagement process in the neighborhoods of Forest Hills, North Cleveland Park and Tenleytown in Ward 3. During the process residents and stakeholders worked with OP, and in collaboration with the District Department of the Environment, developed a sustainability road-map for their community. The community identified sustainability priorities, goals and strategies, as well as indicators to evaluate their effectiveness in reaching their goals through the years. Stakeholders are organized in volunteer workgroups to create community actions to further the Pilot area’s goals. Every year OP and NSIP Pilot workgroups will work to release Progress Reports. The NSIP Pilot Overview Report gives an overview of the planning process, whereas the Pilot Baseline Report outlines the baseline data for each indicator selected for each goal that the community has identified.

Both reports are accessible at www.sustainable-dc.com
