(Washington DC) The DC Office of Planning invites residents and stakeholders to attend a Design Open House co-sponsored by ANC3F on April 27, 2011 from 6.30pm to 8.30pm at the Archstone Van Ness Apartments’ Community Room at 3003 Van Ness Street,. NW. The Open House will feature preliminary green and Low Impact Development streetscape solutions and concepts that the Office of Planning and Rhode side Harwell have produced as a basis for a new vision for the Connecticut Avenue/Van Ness commercial corridor (from Tilden Street to Albemarle Street). OP invites citizens and stakeholders to attend the Open House to preview some of the preliminary concepts and give feed-back to the planners and landscape architects involved in the study.
This Open House is the final public meeting (last of 4) for the Connecticut Avenue Van Ness-UDC Metro Commercial Corridor Enhancement Study process led by the DC Office of Planning. This study is, funded by the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments, and is in partnership with the UDC Sustainability Initiative and the UDC School of Architecture. In May 2011 OP will publish a draft study for a further 30-day public comment period before finalizing it.”
