The D.C. Historic Preservation Office created The National Training School for Women and Girls ArcGIS StoryMap to accompany the DC register nomination of the Nannie Helen Burroughs historic campus located in the Deanwood neighborhood. This story map details the history of The National Training School for Women and Girls campus landscape, the campus buildings and their construction, and Nannie H. Burroughs perseverance as the school’s founder and president for over 40 years.

This StoryMap is a strategic initiative with the Nannie Helen Burroughs Small Area Plan aimed at preserving historic buildings along the corridor, notably the Nannie Helen Burroughs School for Women and Girls, ensuring its protection and continued relevance in the community. The National Training School for Women and Girls ArcGIS StoryMap will serve as a digital archive, offering a comprehensive repository of documents, images, videos, and audio recordings that facilitate local research on the school's history.
