North Capitol Street’s streetscape guidelines have been developed to maintain a consistent character that frames an iconic view toward the Capitol dome, responds to varying conditions created by two underpasses at New York and Rhode Island avenues, and creates attractive and vibrant public spaces serving local residents and visitors.
