The Historic Preservation Review Board met and considered the following items on March 23, 2006.  


NOTICE OF INTENT TO NOMINATE HISTORIC LANDMARKS AND DISTRICTS

Potential Meridian Hill Historic District and National Register multiple property documentation on Meridian Hill embassies, with  associated historic landmark nominations.
Informational presentation only. No action taken.


CONSIDERATION OF MULTIPLE-PROPERTY THEMATIC DOCUMENT

Historic Streetcar and Bus Resources of Washington, D.C. 1862-1962.
Nomination approved.  Nomination will to be forwarded to the National Register.


HISTORIC LANDMARK NOMINATION

Navy Yard Car Barn, 770 M Street, SE, Case #01-06.
Nomination approved. Nomination will be forwarded to the National Register.

        
CLEVELAND PARK HISTORIC DISTRICT

3510 Rodman Street, NW, HPA #06-153, rear addition.
Staff report adopted. Applicant will modify roof and forego retaining wall and piers. Final approval delegated to staff.

SHAW AND BLAGDEN ALLEY HISTORIC DISTRICTS

1234 9th Street, NW, HPA #05-060, revised concept/demolition.
HPRB approved limited demolition contingent on replacement with in-kind materials.

CAPITOL HILL HISTORIC DISTRICT

525 5th Street, SE, HPA#06-101, concept/ two-story rear addition.
Project approved with conditions. Final approval delegated to staff.


MOUNT VERNON TRIANGLE HISTORIC DISTRICT

443-459 Eye Street, NW, HPA #06-064, concept/demolition, addition, new construction.
Project  concept approved. Applicant directed to work with staff during design development stage before final review at the end of that project phase.

Project approved.

3500 Macomb Street, NW, HPA #06-177, concept/rear addition.
Approved in concept.

Mount Pleasant Historic District

1703 Kenyon Street, NW, HPA #06-170, roof addition.
Project approved.

2009 Park Road, NW, HPA #06-176, concept/second-floor rear addition.
Approved in concept.

U Street Historic District

1900 Vermont Avenue, NW, HPA #06-178, concept/subdivision and new construction of seven duplex row houses.
