Comprehensive Community Development Model

The Office of Planning (OP) in conjunction with the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development and the Coalition for Non-Profit Housing and Economic Development is pleased to release the Comprehensive Community Development Model (CCDM). This is a community-led strategy to support neighborhood development in the east end of Ward 7. Driven by a network of residents and community stakeholders, the CCDM offers shared principles for community investment in Deanwood, Burrville, Capitol View, Lincoln Heights, and Richardson Dwellings. These shared principles are supported by a broad range of recommendations—policies, programs and practices—addressing key issues in housing, economic and workforce development, health and wellness, and youth development.

The CCDM will be used to drive the implementation of these recommendations identified by residents and stakeholders. It builds upon prior planning efforts for this community. As we move toward implementation in 2022, OP has identified tools that can be used to realize the outcomes envisioned in the CCDM around housing, land use, historic preservation and food access. The CCDM is the foundation of community-driven principles and strategies on which to build from as we work towards the goal of ensuring equitable development. The CCDM ensures that new investments are intentional and targeted and can lead to the kind of changes that current residents and future would like to see.
