Heba ElGawish, Community Planner, joined the DC Office of Planning in 2019 and is currently supporting the update process for the District’s Comprehensive Plan. Prior to joining DC Office of Planning, Heba was an Urban Planner with the City of Alexandria, Virginia for four years where she managed the planning process and implementation efforts for the Old Town North Small Area Plan, led the adoption of the Old Town North Arts and Cultural District, and reviewed development projects for their compliance with the City’s Master Plan and Design Guidelines. Heba holds a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Design from New York Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Alexandria in Egypt.
