
Heba ElGawish is the Associate Director of Neighborhood Planning at the DC Office of Planning. She oversees a diverse team of planning professionals in developing innovative and contextual place-based plans that advance equity, economic vitality, and community vibrancy.
Heba is an urban designer, planner, and architect. Since 2015, she has led the adoption of numerous small area plans in Washington, DC and the City of Alexandria including the Connecticut Avenue Development Guidelines, the Chevy Chase Small Area Plan, and the Old Town North Small Area Plan. Heba holds a master’s degree in urban and regional design from New York Institute of Technology and a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Alexandria, Egypt.
