Alexis Goggans

Alexis Gogganshas returned to OP and will be moving on from her at-large role to become Ward 4 Planner. She will be taking over responsibilities from Malaika and is well-poised to serve the needs of Ward 4 constituents and oversee the implementation of the many Small Area Plans for this geography.  She will also continue on the Sustainable Congress Heights (EcoDistrict) initiative in a supporting role working with Andrea Limauro and Evelyn Kasongo.

Alexis Goggans joined the DC Office of Planning in 2014 and serves as the East of River Planner and Special Projects Coordinator.  She is currently managing the St. Elizabeths-Congress Heights EcoDistrict initiative. She comes to the DC Office of Planning from Justice & Sustainability Associates, where she worked as a civic engagement manager for the 11th Street Bridge Corridor Improvement Project and DC Streetcar’s H/Benning Line.  As civic engagement manager, Ms. Goggans informed and engaged 11th Street Bridge project stakeholders via the quarterly Community Communications Committee meetings as well as Advisory Neighborhood Commission and Civic Association meetings. Additionally, Alexis implemented and delivered tours of the 11th Street Local Bridge, managed the 11th Street Bridge Construction Management Training Program and helped produce the Ward 7 Summit and the Ward 7 Anacostia Waterfront Initiative community meeting.

Ms. Goggans brings over six years of civic engagement, program development and project management experience with her to the Office of Planning.  She received her B.A. from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and holds a M.S. in Interdisciplinary Sustainability Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington.
