The Mayor's Agent for Historic Preservation Hearing Agent conducted a two-day hearing on October 6 and November 3, 2015, an appeal of the decision of the Historic Preservation Review Board of October 31, 2013. The applicant's claim is "the issuance of the raze permit is necessary in the public interest to allow the construction of a project of special merit."
Subsequent to the hearing, the Mayor's Agent issued a Decision and Final Order on April 13, 2015. On May 13, 2015 several recognized "party status" organizations appealed the Mayor's Agent Decision. On June 10, 2015, the District of Columbia Court of Appeals consolidated the three appeals cases into one case.
The appeals case remains active.
