Joshua Ghaffari joined the Office of Planning in December 2008, as a Facilities/Community Planner in the Capital Planning Unit of the Citywide Planning Division. He is responsible for working with select agencies to help them best leverage their capital improvement planning (CIP) budgets through improved facilities planning. In addition, he works on strengthening the link between the Comp Plan and capital planning by working with agencies to ensure their CIP plans are in compliance with the Comp Plan.

Prior to joining the Office of Planning, Joshua worked for the District of Columbia Office of Public Education Facilities Modernization (OPEFM) and was responsible for performing citywide school facilities planning, design, and community outreach. Joshua has also worked for the public sector in the urban planning industry in London and Baltimore. He has a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from the University of Westminster and a Bachelor of Science degree in geography and environmental planning from Towson University.
