Lamont B. Cobb, Neighborhood Planner, joined the DC Office of Planning in 2017. He supports the office’s place-based planning and implementation efforts in Wards 1,5,7 and 8. Lamont previously worked as Transportation Planner for the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments, where he managed projects through the Transportation/Land Use Connections program, supporting local communities across the National Capital Region with technical assistance, information sharing, and federal transportation aid. He also worked as a planner in the Zoning Division of Arlington County, VA. He holds a Master of City Planning from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA and a bachelor’s degree in Urban Studies from Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA. He is also a Certified Public Manager from George Washington University's Regional Executive Development Program. Lamont is a member of the American Planning Association, and serves as Secretary/Treasurer of the Regional And Intergovernmental Planning Division.
