Elisa Vitale is the Acting Associate Director for Urban Design at the DC Office of Planning. Prior to joining the Urban Design Division, she was a Development Review Specialist with OP. As a Development Review Specialist, Elisa was instrumental in the 2016 comprehensive review and update of the 1958 District of Columbia zoning regulations and managed the review of several transformative development proposals in Buzzard Point, including the Audi Field soccer stadium. Elisa has extensive public and private sector planning experience in the region and has worked as a Senior Planner for the City of College Park, Maryland, the Operations Director for the Rosslyn Business Improvement District, and as an Associate with ICF Consulting where she provided environmental and emergency preparedness support to Federal agency clients. Elisa is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners and holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Affairs with a concentration in Environmental Science and Management from Indiana University and a master’s degree in Community Planning with a certificate in historic preservation from the University of Maryland.
