Question #1 – Imagining 10 years from now…

 

Proudest of having kept:

  • Nice neighborhood
  • Historic architecture

Change most pleased about:

  • Inclusionary zoning
  • New neighborhood retail
  • Reduced negative impact (parking)
  • Reuse/renovation
  • Residential—maintaining stability
  • Permanent affordable housing stock
  • Safer neighborhood
  • Stability for senior housing
  • Maintaining current residents
  • Preservation of older buildings

Question #2 – Possibly increase density on some sites?

  • Greater density at Metro sites
  • When density increases believe displacement happens
  • Trade more parking spaces for affordable housing
  • City use leverage to get more affordable housing when city resources, land and money is used
  • Prioritized list of proposed higher density sites in plan

Question #3 – Assistance needed to support businesses:

  • Access to financing (equity, loans) for non-bankable/other small businesses
  • Infrastructure improvements to support small businesses
  • Commitment (%) for small businesses to have retail/commercial opportunities
  • Developer regulations for small business participation
  • O Street is good opportunity
  • Commercial rents will be too high
  • Small business TIF
