Citizen Comments from First Workshop
Break-Out Group Comments
Following the consultant team’s presentation, attendees at the workshop divided into four break-out groups. A facilitator and a recorder (who were either members of the consultant team or Office of Planning staff) were assigned to each group. Each break-out group was asked to answer the following questions:
Question #1: Lets imagine that it is 10 years from now and this planning effort has gone very well, people are happy with it, and a lot of progress has been made on its recommendations. What are you proudest of having kept as the neighborhood changed? What has changed that you are most pleased about?
Question #2: There are few sites of sufficient size to accommodate affordable housing. Should the consultant team explore the possibility of increasing density on some of the current sites even if it means less off-street parking or less open space?
Question #3: Given limited resources, what kinds of assistance are most needed to support existing and new locally owned businesses?
The following comments are exactly as recorded during the sessions.
