(Washington, DC) On March 10, 2005, Interim Director for the Office of Planning, Ellen McCarthy, testified at the Council of the District of Columbia's oversight hearing on the FY 2004 and 2005 spending and performance by the Office of Planning (OP).

Twenty-two public witnesses signed up to testify before the Council's Committee of the Whole.  Public witnesses were followed by Tersh Boasberg, Chair, Historic Preservation Review Board (HPRB), and Denise Johnson, HPRB member.  Ms. McCarthy was the last to testify at the hearing.  She discussed OP's focus on the District's neighborhoods and its work shepherding plans to implementation.  Ms. McCarthy also discussed her office's accomplishments, from ward-specific achievements to citywide efforts.
