Join Mayor Williams and the DC Office of Planning to Celebrate the Release of "A Vision for Growing an Inclusive City"

(Washington, DC) On November 22nd, Mayor Anthony Williams and the DC Office of Planning will host a reception to celebrate the release of "A Vision for Growing an Inclusive City," the vision and policy framework that will guide the Office of Planning's revision of the District Elements of the Comprehensive Plan.  The reception will be held at the City Museum, 801 K Street NW at Mount Vernon Square.  Mayor Williams, DC Council Chair Linda Cropp and the Director of the Office of Planning, Andrew Altman, will provide remarks at the reception.

A year ago at the Citizens' Summit III, over 3,000 DC residents came together to discuss a vision for our city.  The discussion continued at eight Neighborhood Summits in early 2004.  "A Vision for Growing an Inclusive City" lays out three challenges that Washington must address as it plans for the future. These challenges-Creating Successful Neighborhoods, Increasing Access to Education and Employment, and Connecting the City-provide a framework for strategies to bridge the divides that now exist in our city. The strategies will be further developed during the revision of the DC Comprehensive Plan in 2004 and 2005.   Come see the results of your efforts and learn about the next steps in working together to create the next generation of DC's Comprehensive Plan.

Space for this event is limited.  Please RSVP by phone (202) 442-8812 or via email at compplan@dc.gov.  For additional information regarding the Comprehensive Plan Revision, please select here.
