OP Releases Draft Comprehensive Plan Vision Report

(Washington, DC) The DC Office of Planning has released the "Vision for Growing an Inclusive City," the vision and policy framework that will guide OP's revision of the District Elements of the Comprehensive Plan.

The "Vision for Growing an Inclusive City" lays out three challenges that Washington must address as it plans for the future. These challenges—Creating Successful Neighborhoods, Increasing Access to Education and Employment, and Connecting the City—provide a framework for strategies to bridge the divides that now exist in our city. The strategies will be further developed during the update of the DC Comprehensive Plan in 2004 and 2005.

The Draft Vision is being considered by the DC Council during summer 2004. Following Council action, the final document will be produced for public distribution and posted to the OP website.

Copies of the draft document are also available at the following locations:

  • DC Office of Planning, 801 North Capitol Street, NE, Suite 4000
  • MLK Main Library, 9th and G Streets, NW
