Patricia Zingsheim
Associate Director of Revitalization and Design
 
Patricia Zingsheim joined the DC Office of Planning in April 2003. She is an urban designer and a registered architect, focussing on urban revitalization and development; She has managed downtown, neighborhood, and waterfront projects for private consulting firms, as well as local governments. She has a Master of Architecture from the University of Wisconsin and was a Loeb Fellow (class of 95-96) at Harvard University, where she taught "The Elements of Urban Design" prior to moving to the District. She leads the Revitalization and Design Division with its ambitious initiatives that include citywide work, as well as major development planning and implementation activities in large areas under new neighborhood development. Examples include the old Convention Center site, NoMA, and Mount Vernon Triangle. She is currently the project manager for the new downtown framework and action strategy, called the Center City Action Agenda 07. Ms. Zingsheim is committed to the achievement of a healthy and high-quality urban environment for DC and has worked toward that by focusing on the design of civic infrastructure and architecture, quality public space, sustainability, and green design.
