Kimberly Prothro Williams Architectural Historian
Kimberly Prothro Williams is an architectural historian for the HPO specializing in the evaluation of historic resources for designation eligibility. As National Register coordinator for the DC Historic Preservation Office, Ms. Williams prepares the necessary documentation to forward properties listed in the DC Inventory of Historic Sites to the National Register of Historic Places. Her work includes conducting research on historic properties, preparing National Register nominations (both new nominations and amendments to existing ones), and writing and editing historic district brochures as part of the office's neighborhood historic district brochures program. Ms. Williams has over 15 years of experience in Washington and the surrounding area conducting surveys and research, and in preparing documentation for historic preservation purposes. She has an MA in Architectural History from the University of Virginia (1988) with a Certificate in Historic Preservation. |
