Catherine V. Buell
Citizen Member

Term: Appointed March 18, 2008. Current term ends July 21, 2009.

Catherine Buell is a real estate attorney with the law firm of Patton Boggs LLP where she counsels institutional investors seeking to make investments in real estate assets and private equity funds in the United States, South America, and Europe.

As a native of the Washington, DC metropolitan area and a Ward 8 resident, Ms. Buell is involved in several local organizations, serving as an active member of the Historic Anacostia Block Association and a member of the Board of Directors of the Anacostia Holding Corporation. In addition, Ms. Buell is a proud member of the Board of Directors of the Southwest Renaissance Development Corporation, a non-profit corporation which seeks to promote sustainable economic development in Southwest Washington, DC through the use of the arts.

Ms. Buell has her JD from Georgetown University Law School, and her BA from Spelman College. Before attending law school, Ms. Buell worked for Senator Reed of the Georgia General Assembly as his legislative assistant and also as his special assistant in his role as campaign manager to the current Atlanta, Georgia mayor, Shirley Franklin.
