R. Keith Lambert Preservation Inspector R. Keith Lambert is a building inspector for the Historic Preservation Office (HPO).  He conducts inspections and enforcement in many of the city’s historic districts, and coordinates closely with the inspectors in the Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs and the Department of Transportation Public Space Division on issues involving historic properties.  Prior to joining the HPO in 2002, Mr. Lambert worked for ten years as an architect before joining the DC Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs as a building inspector in 1993.  He has a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Howard University (1979).
