PR 19-819, the "Central 14th Street Vision Plan and Revitalization Strategy Approval Resolution of 2012"
After an eight month public engagement planning process working with and obtaining input from community stakeholders and government agencies,  the Office of Planning (OP) is finalizing the Central 14th Street Vision Plan and Revitalization Strategy and has transmitted the Plan to Council. 

OP provided a 30-Day Public Comment Period between December 30, 2011 and March 23, 2012, and hosted a Mayoral Hearing on March 22, 2012. A summary of public comments is posted under ‘Related Documents’ below along with the revised final draft plan submitted to Council.

PR 19-819 would approve the Plan and its recommendations for implementation. The Central 14th Street corridor in Ward 4 and includes the neighborhoods of 16th Street Heights, Brightwood, Crestwood, Petworth, and Columbia Heights. The purpose of the Plan is to direct economic growth along 14th Street and improve neighborhood retail choices and amenities along the corridor. The purpose of the public hearing is to receive testimony from the public and from the Office of Planning on this proposed resolution.

The Committee invites the public to testify. Testimony may be limited to 3 minutes for individuals and 5 minutes for those representing organizations or groups. Individuals and representatives of organizations who wish to testify should contact Tawanna Shuford at 727-8232 or [email protected], and furnish their name, address, telephone number, and organizational affiliation (if any) by 5:00 pm on Thursday, October 18, 2012. Witnesses are encouraged to bring 15 copies of their testimony and, if possible, to email an electronic copy to Ms. Shuford.

If you are unable to testify at the public hearing, written statements are encouraged and will be made part of the official record.
