Enrolling in Afterschool Programs Managed by the Office of Out-of-School Time Programs
DCPS has updated its traditional afterschool program for students in preschool through eighth grade.
For the majority of families, the afterschool program offered by their school will be managed by the Office of Out-of-School Time Programs and will look much the same as last year. The hours of operation will remain 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
For the first time, select schools are offering afterschool and extended-day programs that are funded through our Proving What’s Possible (PWP) grant awards. For those schools, the hours of operation may be different than they were last year, and the academic programming will more closely resemble what's offered during the regular school day. For questions about PWP programs, contact the principal at your child's school.
For afterschool sites managed by the Office of Out-of-School Time, the program will begin on Aug. 27, 2012 and operate from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Families may begin enrolling in Out-of-School Time afterschool programs managed by the Office of Out-of-School-Time Programs at their school on Monday, Aug. 20, 2012.

Staff will be onsite to enroll your child in the afterschool program at the following times:
- Monday, August 20, 7:30 a.m to 3:30 p.m.
- Tuesday, August 21, 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
- Wednesday, August 22, 7:30 a.m to 3:30 p.m.
- Thursday, August 23, 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
- Friday, August 24, 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
- School days after Monday, August 27, 5:00 p.m.to 6:00 p.m.*
In order to enroll a student, the following documents are needed:
- Proof of relationship to child (Example: birth certificate with parent's and child's names)
- Proof of residency (Example: utility bill from last 30 days)
- Proof of income for all parents/guardians in the household (Example: three consecutive pay stubs)
* Please note that your child cannot attend the program until you receive confirmation that all necessary documentation has been received and processed. We encourage families to enroll their students during the week of Aug. 20 in order that students can start the program on the first day of school.
