14th Street Corridor Vision Plan and Revitalization Strategy

The District of Columbia's Office of Planning is initiating a community planning process with area stakeholders (including residents, ANC 4A, ANC 4C, neighborhood organizations, Council staff, businesses, property owners, institutions and government agencies) to develop a strategic revitalization strategy for the 14th Street corridor, with particular emphasis on improving retail options and physical appearance.

Brightwood Neighborhood Investment Fund Plan

The Neighborhood Investment Fund (NIF) is an annual non-lapsing, revolving fund to finance economic development and neighborhood revitalization in 12 target neighborhoods. The purpose of the Target Area Investment Plan is to identify community investment priorities for the use of NIF funds.

Riggs Road and South Dakota Avenue Area Final Development Plan

Riggs Road and South Dakota Avenue Area Final Development Plan

In 2005, the Office of Planning in conjunction District Department of Transportation (DDOT) began a planning process with several community groups to develop a neighborhood plan and revitalization strategy for the Riggs Road and South Dakota Avenue intersection. The Riggs Road and South Dakota Avenue study area is located in the northeast quadrant of the District, primarily in Ward 4 with the southeastern most portion of the study area located in Ward 5.

Takoma Central District Plan

OP initiated an 18 month long planning process in the summer of 2002 for the Takoma Central District Planning area. The area is generally defined by Chestnut Street to the north, Eastern Avenue and the DC/MD boundary to the east, 4th and 5th Streets to the west, and Aspen and Laurel Streets to the south.

 
Upper Georgia Avenue Plan Cover

Upper Georgia Avenue Area Land Development Plan

The Upper Georgia Avenue Land Development Plan outlines a shared vision from guide growth, development and preservation along Georgia Avenue from Decatur Street north to Eastern Avenue. The planning area spans several ward 4 neighborhoods including Petworth, Brightowood, Shepherd Park and Takoma. The plan includes corridor wide recommendations and specific goals for five distinct development zones.

Walter Reed Army Medical Center Small Area Plan Council Approved

The Office of Planning (OP) is finalizing the Walter Reed Army Medical Center Small Area Plan and is announcing that the Council of the District of Columbia will be holding a public hearing on the Final Draft Plan on March 26, 2013 at 11:00am.
