Sustainability


Sustainability planning prioritizes environmentally sound actions into the development of the District, and emphasizes partnering with other agencies on a variety of initiatives. The Office of Planning’s sustainability initiatives play an important role in reviewing planning initiatives and coordinating with other District agencies to improve sustainability in all its policies and regulations. Its ensures sustainability is fully integrated into the District’s goals of making the city more livable and sustainable, and giving Washington, DC, a distinct image that makes it stand out as a world class city in which to live, work, and visit.
