Retail Action Strategy

The Retail Action Strategy is the first ever citywide assessment of the District’s retail potential. It examines ways to strengthen the city’s retail base at both the citywide and local scale, to promote vibrant commercial districts with a broad range of retail businesses in all neighborhoods, and to create expanded opportunities for small and local retailers.

The District of Columbia Retail Action Roadmap is a guide to the exciting retail resources that exist in DC and the many opportunities that await our neighborhoods, our residents, our small businessess and our future investors. The Roadmap analysis is based on the comprehensive neighborhood retail submarket assessments and demand analysis through the Retail Action Strategy study.
